    i still use android 1.6 – i got no choice – htc dream aka G1.
    maybe in future version for iOS?

    I agree. Leaving backward compatibility up to certain version is needed, so that resources can be put where it is useful.

    However, you want to mention that on the upgrade notice so that 1.x user know that in advance and therefore didn’t upgrade the software.
