Os distribution for Financisto

I’d like to share some statistics for Financisto. As of today Android platform versions are distributed like this:

About 2.5k people are still using Android 1.5 (out of ~48k total installs) which is about 5.2%. Keeping backward compatibility with this version of Android is not really convenient but was a necessary choice. However I plan to gradually stop supporting 1.x devices in the next couple of releases. It should help to move Financisto forward. Please let me know if you have any serious concerns about that.

  1. I have just started using Financisto. It’s a very great app, but I started with 1.4.8 and Google Docs sync isn’t working. It says: Wrong account name or password (and i’m sure that they are correct)…

  2. I am using Android Tattoo.
They are still sitting on Android 1.6 and do not intend to update.
I’ve been using your program over six months.
Recently, a week did not work the phone and all my finances out of control without Financisto.

The Android version is very convenient for entering data.
But very little of the functional analysis and statistics view. Really need a web/desktop version, which will be synchronized.
For monetization, you can make, for example, an online service with a paid subscription.

    Thanks for a great soft!

  3. I actually bought and supported Financisto because it worked with Android 1.5. There’s still a whole bunch of Motorola phones still on 1.5 because they cut us off without any upgrade support. Possible to support 1.5 but ditch 1.6 and other 1.x’s ? Its just that yeah, been trying to find a good app for so long. Please keep it on 1.5 for maybe a year or two until us Motorola guys can get a new phone!

    • To be clear – there is no way to buy Financisto – it is open source and free. What you must’ve actually bought is a donation in the Market :)

  4. Fine with me on N1 2.3.3 :-)
